Operations & Logistics Assistant

The Fifth Reel is looking to hire a qualified candidate to join our team in a part-time capacity. If you’re a dedicated movie lover looking to be a part of some behind-the-scenes operations, then this is the job for you!
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and transporting necessary items for Fifth Reel events (equipment rentals, decorations, liquor, promotional materials, change, ice, etc.)
  • Coordinating with external vendors to arrange for supplies (such as a print shop for posters or rental house for audio equipment)
  • Provide general assistance during Fifth Reel events to ensure smooth running of all shows
  • Provide support with event set-up and tear-down at venue
  • Distribution of posters to neighborhood shops and poster boards in the downtown area

Qualifications:

  • Personal vehicle with ability to transport equipment and supplies
  • AGLC ProServe certification
  • Confidence in dealing with crowd control and customer service situations
  • Strong organization, time management and attention to detail
  • The ability to work calmly and excel under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Commitment:

  • Work is estimated to involve approximately 15 hours of labour per show (over the course of usually one month)
  • Presence is required at all Fifth Reel shows, but prep work (as needed) is scheduled by the OLA
  • Offer is for a 12 month contract, with the possibility to renew at the end of term
